|A batch of owls and a wish for conversation
( Anonymous Owl to GilderoyCollapse )( Owl to Frank LongbottomCollapse )
Greta left the owlry, hopping slightly on one foot as she tried to glance at the bottom of her shoe. The owlry was always a treacherous place to walk
, she thought with a scowl, I wonder what sort of charms I could create with roasted owl.
Awkwardly, she perched on the corner of a statue's base, pulling off her shoe and casting a scourgify
spell upon it. Once finished she heaved a quiet sigh and rested her elbows on her knees. Her usual blind confidence was begining to wane. She was becoming lonely and discouraged.
Greta sat on the floor of the Hufflepuff common room, crosslegged beside the fire, tongue trapped between her teeth as she focused her scattered attention between three open volumes, her wand, a dish of butter, and a perfectly ripened squash. Muttering an incantation, she gave a swish of her wand, and the charmed foods began to teeter in their place, soon enough breaking into a near-dance.
"Oh! Finally, it worked. My first attempt worked and... oh... oh my
." As she watched, her grin faded. The squash turned to face the butter, or at least, she guessed that was what happened, as moments later the squash was falling upon the butter and they were rolling happlessly around the rug in an illicit display. Her eyes shot open and she pulled them apart, quickly undoing her charm with another swish of her wand. "This won't do at all."
